merkle_rootSTRINGRoot hash of the Merkle tree constructed from all transaction IDs in the block. This cryptographic commitment ensures the integrity and immutability of all transactions included in the block.
sizeINT64Block size in bytes. Represents the total serialized size of the block data structure.
timeINT64Unix timestamp representing when the block was mined by the network. Integer value in seconds since epoch, typically used alongside the timestamp field for historical analysis.
difficultyFLOAT64Mining difficulty target for the block. Integer value representing the computational effort required to produce the block, with 0 indicating proof-of-stake consensus and higher values indicating proof-of-work difficulty.
confirmationsINT64Number of blockchain confirmations since this block was mined, representing how many subsequent blocks have been added. Value decreases over time as the block becomes more deeply buried in the chain.
versionINT64Sequential version number of the transaction or block structure indicating the format specification. Integer value representing the data structure version used for encoding and validation.
bitsSTRINGDifficulty target for this block encoded as a compact representation. Lower values indicate higher mining difficulty required to produce the block.
nonceSTRINGSequential counter for transactions or operations from an account. Increments by 1 for each new transaction to prevent replay attacks and ensure transaction ordering.
solutionSTRINGProof-of-work solution for the block’s Equihash puzzle. Hex-encoded variable-length string demonstrating the miner’s computational work to meet the difficulty target.
chainworkSTRINGTotal cumulative proof-of-work on the chain at this block, represented as hex-encoded 256-bit value. Indicates computational effort securing all blocks from genesis through this height.
anchorSTRINGMerkle root commitment for the Sprout shielded transaction pool at this block height. Hex-encoded 64-character hash used to verify the state of Sprout notes.
auth_data_rootSTRINGMerkle root hash of the block’s authenticated data tree, which commits to transaction authorization data. Hex-encoded 64-character string representing the root of shielded transaction proofs and signatures.
block_commitmentsSTRINGMerkle root hash of the block’s commitments tree structure. Hex-encoded 64-character string used for cryptographic verification of block authenticity.

chain_supply_value_zatINT64Total ZEC supply in circulation measured in zatoshis (1 ZEC = 100,000,000 zatoshis). This integer representation avoids floating-point precision issues for the chain’s monetary base.
chain_supply_monitoredBOOLIndicates whether the total circulating supply of ZEC can be accurately calculated at this block height. Returns false if any shielded pool values are missing or unverifiable.
chain_supply_value_deltaFLOAT64Change in total ZEC supply for this block versus the previous block measured in ZEC. Typically equals the block reward (3.125 ZEC in these samples), but may differ due to fees or protocol events.

Transaction records containing signed operations that modify blockchain state. Primary source for tracking value transfers, contract interactions, and account state changes across the network.

block_timestampTIMESTAMPTimestamp when the block was produced. UTC timezone, microsecond precision.
block_dateDATEDate when the block was produced. Derived from block timestamp, truncated to day precision.
block_numberINT64Sequential number of the block in the blockchain. Starts at 0 for the genesis block and increments by 1 for each subsequent block.
block_number_indexINT64Position of this transaction within its containing block among transactions with identical block_number. Used to distinguish multiple transactions at the same height when necessary.
transaction_indexINT64Position of the transaction within its containing block. Zero-indexed integer indicating the sequential order of transactions in the block.
txidSTRINGUnique identifier for the transaction. 64-character hex string without 0x prefix.
versionINT64Sequential version number of the transaction or block structure indicating the format specification. Integer value representing the data structure version used for encoding and validation.
version_group_idSTRINGTransaction version group identifier for Zcash protocol upgrades. Hex-encoded value that specifies the network upgrade branch (e.g., “892f2085” for Sapling-era transactions).
locktimeINT64Block height or timestamp after which transaction becomes valid for inclusion. Typically set to 0 for immediate validity in Zcash transactions.
expiry_heightINT64Block height at which this transaction expires if not yet mined. Commonly set to 20 blocks ahead of the current block to prevent replay attacks.
overwinteredBOOLIndicates whether the transaction uses the Overwinter network upgrade protocol, which added versioning and transaction expiry. True for transactions on Zcash after block 347500 (June 2018).
sizeINT64Block size in bytes. Represents the total serialized size of the block data structure.
hexSTRINGRaw transaction data encoded as a hexadecimal string representing the complete serialized transaction. Contains all transaction components including inputs, outputs, signatures, and protocol-specific fields.
auth_digestSTRINGCryptographic hash digest used for transaction authorization in Zcash’s Sapling protocol. Appears as all f’s (ffffffff…) in sample data, indicating transactions without shielded components requiring authorization.
value_balanceBIGNUMERICNet value transferred between transparent and shielded pools in this transaction, denominated in ZEC. Zero indicates no cross-pool transfers occurred.
value_balance_zatINT64Net value transferred between shielded and transparent pools in zatoshis (the smallest Zcash denomination). Zero when transaction uses only transparent addresses or stays within shielded pools.
binding_sigSTRINGCryptographic signature binding shielded value transfers in Sapling transactions. Null for transparent-only transactions or those using older shielding protocols.
join_split_pub_keySTRINGPublic key used to verify the signature on JoinSplit descriptions in shielded transactions. Null when no JoinSplits are present in the transaction.
join_split_sigSTRINGCryptographic signature for JoinSplit transactions, which mix and transfer shielded funds. Null for transactions without JoinSplit components, as shown in the sample data.

join_splitsJSONArray of JoinSplit transfers that convert between transparent and shielded ZEC pools. Empty array when transaction contains no JoinSplit operations, common in post-Sapling transactions using newer shielded transfer methods.
shielded_outputsJSONJSON array of Sapling shielded outputs in this transaction, each representing a note sent to a shielded address. Empty array when transaction contains no Sapling shielded outputs.
shielded_spendsJSONArray of Sapling shielded spend inputs consumed in this transaction. Empty array indicates no shielded value was spent from the Sapling pool.
orchardJSONJSON object containing Orchard shielded pool actions for privacy-preserving transactions introduced in Zcash’s NU5 upgrade. Null for transactions predating Orchard activation or using other shielded pools.
is_coinbaseBOOLBoolean flag indicating whether the transaction is a coinbase transaction that creates new coins as a block reward. True for the first transaction in each block that rewards the miner.
input_countINT64Number of transparent inputs consumed by this transaction. Null for coinbase transactions which create new coins.
output_countINT64Number of transparent outputs in this transaction. Excludes shielded outputs which are counted separately in shielded_output_count.
joinsplit_countINT64Number of JoinSplit operations included in this transaction. JoinSplits are Zcash’s privacy mechanism that combines inputs and outputs while obscuring transaction details.
shielded_output_countINT64Count of shielded outputs in this transaction that use Sapling zero-knowledge proofs. Zero when transaction only contains transparent outputs.
shielded_spend_countINT64Number of shielded spend (Sapling protocol) inputs in the transaction. Zero when transaction uses only transparent inputs or other shielding protocols.
