Block header data containing sequential numbering, cryptographic hashes linking to parent blocks, timestamps, and consensus metadata. Primary source for blockchain state verification and chain navigation.

Columns

Column	Type	Description
`timestamp`	`TIMESTAMP`	Timestamp when the block was produced. UTC timezone.
`height`	`INT64`	Sequential block number indicating the position of the block in the blockchain. Increments by 1 for each new block in the chain.
`block_hash`	`STRING`	Unique identifier for the block. 66-character hex string including 0x prefix.
`previous_block_hash`	`STRING`	Hash of the previous block in the blockchain, linking blocks in chronological sequence to form the chain structure.
`next_block_hash`	`STRING`	Hash identifier of the subsequent block in the Zcash blockchain. Null for the most recent block at the chain tip.
`merkle_root`	`STRING`	Root hash of the Merkle tree constructed from all transaction IDs in the block. This cryptographic commitment ensures the integrity and immutability of all transactions included in the block.
`size`	`INT64`	Block size in bytes. Represents the total serialized size of the block data structure.
`time`	`INT64`	Unix timestamp representing when the block was mined by the network. Integer value in seconds since epoch, typically used alongside the timestamp field for historical analysis.
`difficulty`	`FLOAT64`	Mining difficulty target for the block. Integer value representing the computational effort required to produce the block, with 0 indicating proof-of-stake consensus and higher values indicating proof-of-work difficulty.
`confirmations`	`INT64`	Number of blockchain confirmations since this block was mined, representing how many subsequent blocks have been added. Value decreases over time as the block becomes more deeply buried in the chain.
`version`	`INT64`	Sequential version number of the transaction or block structure indicating the format specification. Integer value representing the data structure version used for encoding and validation.
`bits`	`STRING`	Difficulty target for this block encoded as a compact representation. Lower values indicate higher mining difficulty required to produce the block.
`nonce`	`STRING`	Sequential counter for transactions or operations from an account. Increments by 1 for each new transaction to prevent replay attacks and ensure transaction ordering.
`solution`	`STRING`	Proof-of-work solution for the block’s Equihash puzzle. Hex-encoded variable-length string demonstrating the miner’s computational work to meet the difficulty target.
`chainwork`	`STRING`	Total cumulative proof-of-work on the chain at this block, represented as hex-encoded 256-bit value. Indicates computational effort securing all blocks from genesis through this height.
`anchor`	`STRING`	Merkle root commitment for the Sprout shielded transaction pool at this block height. Hex-encoded 64-character hash used to verify the state of Sprout notes.
`auth_data_root`	`STRING`	Merkle root hash of the block’s authenticated data tree, which commits to transaction authorization data. Hex-encoded 64-character string representing the root of shielded transaction proofs and signatures.
`block_commitments`	`STRING`	Merkle root hash of the block’s commitments tree structure. Hex-encoded 64-character string used for cryptographic verification of block authenticity.
`chain_history_root`	`STRING`	Merkle root representing the commitment to the chain’s complete transaction history up to this block. Used by Zcash’s privacy protocol to verify historical state without revealing transaction details.
`final_sapling_root`	`STRING`	Root hash of the Sapling note commitment tree after processing this block. 64-character hex string representing the cryptographic accumulator state for Sapling shielded transactions.
`final_orchard_root`	`STRING`	Merkle root hash of the Orchard shielded pool state after all transactions in this block have been applied. Hex-encoded 64-character string representing the cryptographic commitment to all Orchard notes.
`chain_supply_value`	`BIGNUMERIC`	Total supply of Zcash in circulation at this block height, denominated in ZEC. Calculated by summing all block rewards and transaction fees from genesis through this block.
`chain_supply_value_zat`	`INT64`	Total ZEC supply in circulation measured in zatoshis (1 ZEC = 100,000,000 zatoshis). This integer representation avoids floating-point precision issues for the chain’s monetary base.
`chain_supply_monitored`	`BOOL`	Indicates whether the total circulating supply of ZEC can be accurately calculated at this block height. Returns false if any shielded pool values are missing or unverifiable.
`chain_supply_value_delta`	`FLOAT64`	Change in total ZEC supply for this block versus the previous block measured in ZEC. Typically equals the block reward (3.125 ZEC in these samples), but may differ due to fees or protocol events.
`chain_supply_value_delta_zat`	`INT64`	Change in total ZEC supply for this block measured in zatoshis (1 ZEC = 100,000,000 zatoshis). Typically equals the block reward of 312,500,000 zatoshis (3.125 ZEC) post-halving.
`value_pools`	`JSON`	State of each Zcash value pool (transparent, Sprout, Sapling, Orchard) at this block, including total chain value and delta. JSON structure containing pool identifiers, monitored status, and both human-readable (ZEC) and atomic (zatoshi) denominations.
`trees`	`JSON`	Merkle tree state metadata tracking the size of shielded transaction note commitment trees after this block. Contains JSON object with Sapling and Orchard tree sizes, representing cumulative count of notes added to each privacy pool since network genesis.
`number`	`INT64`	Sequential block number indicating the position of the block in the blockchain. Increments by 1 for each new block in the chain.
`number_index`	`INT64`	Index of the record within the block, starting at 0 for the first record and incrementing by 1 for each subsequent record.

Columns

`block_timestamp`	`TIMESTAMP`	Timestamp when the block was produced. UTC timezone, microsecond precision.
`block_date`	`DATE`	Date when the block was produced. Derived from block timestamp, truncated to day precision.
`block_number`	`INT64`	Sequential number of the block in the blockchain. Starts at 0 for the genesis block and increments by 1 for each subsequent block.
`block_number_index`	`INT64`	Position of this transaction within its containing block among transactions with identical block_number. Used to distinguish multiple transactions at the same height when necessary.
`transaction_index`	`INT64`	Position of the transaction within its containing block. Zero-indexed integer indicating the sequential order of transactions in the block.
`txid`	`STRING`	Unique identifier for the transaction. 64-character hex string without 0x prefix.
`version`	`INT64`	Sequential version number of the transaction or block structure indicating the format specification. Integer value representing the data structure version used for encoding and validation.
`version_group_id`	`STRING`	Transaction version group identifier for Zcash protocol upgrades. Hex-encoded value that specifies the network upgrade branch (e.g., “892f2085” for Sapling-era transactions).

`shielded_output_count`	`INT64`	Count of shielded outputs in this transaction that use Sapling zero-knowledge proofs. Zero when transaction only contains transparent outputs.
`shielded_spend_count`	`INT64`	Number of shielded spend (Sapling protocol) inputs in the transaction. Zero when transaction uses only transparent inputs or other shielding protocols.
