Each GBPA token tracks one British pound (GBP) at a fixed 1:1 peg and is fully backed by cash and high-quality liquid assets as defined by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) [S1][S2]. Reserve assets include tokenised units in abrdn's GBP money market fund held by custody partner Archax [S3]. No yield or interest accrues to tokenholders, and Agant reserves the right to charge fees for certain Platform services, disclosed on the Platform [S4].

The issuer is Agant Finance Limited, a UK-domiciled company registered with the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) as a cryptoasset firm pursuant to the Money Laundering Regulations 2017 (FRN: 1037671), an anti-money-laundering registration rather than e-money or banking authorisation [S1][S5][S6]. Services in relation to GBPA are not covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) or the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) [S1][S5]. Only onboarded customers aged at least 18 who have entered a Distribution Agreement may use the Platform [S4]. GBPA is always redeemable 1:1 for GBP, with reserves held in segregated, bankruptcy-remote accounts at regulated custodians [S1][S6].

GBPA is issued onchain across Ethereum, Base, Tempo, and Solana, with cross-chain interoperability [S6]. Issuance and redemption occur via the Platform against the 1:1 GBP peg, governed by a separate Distribution Agreement and supported by open-banking on and off ramps [S2][S4]. Agant publishes regular reserve attestations of its financial reserves [S1].
