What is Chainlink?

This dashboard only tracks Chainlink CCIP. Chainlink is a decentralized oracle network providing off-chain computations to smart contracts and publicly launched Chainlink Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) in July 2023. Chainlink was founded by Sergey Nazarov and Steve Ellis and launched in 2017.

How does Chainlink work?

Independent node operators retrieve and validate off-chain data and enable smart contracts to reliably pull data from them. Users send assets and/or messages on-chain to CCIP, which then transfers them to the specified address and chain. This dashboard only tracks Chainlink CCIP.

Who governs Chainlink?

LINK tokenholders own and govern the protocol. They currently take all of the total cross-chain transaction fees paid by CCIP users (revenue). Chainlink’s investors include Fundamental Labs, Nirvana Capital, AlphaCoin Fund, etc.
