Overview
Tradeable assets measures the number of unique tokens users can trade on the decentralized exchange. It reflects the breadth of the project’s token coverage.
Data sources
- Factory contract events capturing trading pair and pool creation
- Program instructions for pool initialization on Solana
- Asset metadata for token identification and decimal normalization
Common calculation approaches
Factory event extraction
Unique token addresses are extracted from factory contract events such as PairCreated and PoolCreated from Uniswap and PancakeSwap. Each distinct token address is recorded upon its first appearance in a trading pair or liquidity pool to maintain a cumulative count of tradeable assets.
Program instruction analysis
On Solana, token mint addresses are extracted from pool initialization program instructions from platforms like Orca. These instructions provide the primary data source for identifying new assets as they are introduced to the exchange's ecosystem.
Multi-version and cross-chain aggregation
Asset counts are aggregated across multiple protocol versions and blockchain deployments, including QuickSwap and SushiSwap. This approach ensures that tokens appearing in various contract versions, such as V2 and V3, are deduplicated to reflect the total breadth of the platform's coverage.
Note: The calculation approaches and protocol examples above are representative patterns. Individual protocol implementations may vary.
