MXNt, issued by Tether International, S.A. de C.V., is a fiat-pegged stablecoin that provides an onchain representation of the Mexican peso (MXN), pegged 1:1 to one peso and backed entirely by Tether's reserves. [S1][S2]

Each MXNt token represents a contractual right to redeem at the pegged value of one Mexican peso (MXN) less applicable fees, and does not pass through yield to holders. [S1][S2] Tokens are backed 100% by Tether's reserves, for which Tether publishes periodically updated reserve and attestation data. [S2][S3] Holders acquiring or redeeming directly with Tether bear a 0.1% acquisition fee, a redemption fee of the greater of 1,000 USD or 0.1%, and a one-time 150 USD verification fee. [S4]

Tether International, S.A. de C.V. is a Sociedad Anónima de Capital Variable formed in El Salvador, authorised as a Stablecoin Issuer and Digital Assets Service Provider under El Salvador's Regulations for the Issuance of Stablecoin Public Offerings and subject to the National Commission of Digital Assets (CNAD). [S1][S5] Tokens are backed by reserves but are not segregated assets held in the holder's name, are not legal tender, and carry no FDIC or SIPC protection. [S1] Acquisition requires KYC/AML verification; U.S. Persons, Canadian Persons, Singaporean Persons, sanctioned persons, and residents of Prohibited Jurisdictions are barred. Tether tokens are issued onchain across multiple public blockchains including Ethereum, Tron, Solana, Avalanche, Algorand, Celo, Cosmos, Liquid Network, Near, Polkadot, Tezos and Ton. [S2] Tether mints new tokens only when KYC-verified customers purchase them in the Primary Market and transfers reserves accordingly; tokens are burned upon redemption or held in treasury for future issuance. Each token is redeemable one-for-one for Mexican Peso and is a direct claim on the issuer.

Retail investors and institutions can mint and redeem directly with Tether in MXN after completing KYC, and holders have a contractual right to redeem at par.

Tether International, S.A. de C.V. is incorporated in El Salvador and is supervised by the National Commission of Digital Assets of El Salvador.

Holder terms are governed by the law of the British Virgin Islands, with disputes heard in the United Kingdom.

MXNt has been issued on Ethereum as an ERC-20 token since May 2022.
