FlareFLR
Overview
What is Flare?
Flare is an EVM-compatible layer-1 blockchain with enshrined data protocols — the Flare Time Series Oracle (FTSO) for decentralized price and data feeds, and the Flare Data Connector (FDC) for external and cross-chain data. Flare launched its mainnet in 2022; its native token is FLR.
How does Flare work?
Validators process transactions and earn fees; FLR holders wrap to WFLR and delegate to FTSO data providers (or stake to validators) to earn rewards, while Flare's enshrined oracles supply data to applications.
Who governs Flare?
Flare is built by the Flare Foundation and Flare Labs, co-founded by Hugo Philion and Sean Rowan. The native token FLR is community-held and used for governance, delegation to data providers, and securing the network.
