Launched in partnership between Cronos Labs and Matter Labs, the network went live on mainnet on August 15, 2024. Cronos zkEVM uses zkCRO as its native gas token and provides developers with a scalable, secure environment leveraging zero-knowledge proof technology. The platform is designed to be EVM-compatible, allowing seamless deployment of Ethereum-based applications while benefiting from the speed and cost efficiency of Layer 2 scaling.
