Bridge deposits
Bridge deposits measures the total value of assets held in a project’s bridge contracts on the main chain. It's used to track capital flows into L2 or L3 blockchains, and serves as a leading indicator of users' intent to transact on those chains.

Overview
Bridge deposits measures the total value of assets held in a project’s bridge contracts on the main chain. It's used to track capital flows into L2 or L3 blockchains, and serves as a leading indicator of users' intent to transact on those chains.
Data sources
- ERC-20
Transferevents and native token transfers from the main chain - Token balance snapshots for identified bridge contract addresses
- End-of-day price feeds for USD conversion
- Token metadata for decimal precision and symbol identification
Common calculation approaches
Main-chain portfolio monitoring
For Layer 2 blockchains such as Arbitrum One and Base, asset balances are monitored across official bridge contracts on the Ethereum mainnet. Token movements are extracted from ERC-20 Transfer events and native ETH transfers, with balances aggregated daily for all identified bridge addresses. Similar logic is applied to track the USD value of token portfolios from bridge contracts for OP Mainnet and Linea, where amounts are normalized by decimal precision and converted using end-of-day price feeds.
Cross-chain balance tracking
For scaling solutions including Hyperliquid, asset balances are tracked from bridge contracts located on secondary chains rather than the Ethereum mainnet. ERC-20 Transfer events are parsed from the host chain—for instance, Arbitrum—to measure the total value of user funds deposited into the bridging infrastructure. These balances are aggregated to represent the total capital available for use within the project's ecosystem.
Note: The calculation approaches and protocol examples above are representative patterns. Individual protocol implementations may vary.
