Staking market cap measures the total USD value of STX locked in Stacks' Proof of Transfer (PoX) stacking mechanism. STX holders lock their tokens to support network consensus and earn BTC rewards. This metric captures all locked STX — from solo stackers, delegated stackers, and pool operators — using the native `stx_lock` event, which fires whenever the Stacks runtime locks tokens regardless of the stacking path. Stacking operates in PoX reward cycles of exactly 2100 Bitcoin blocks (~2 weeks), starting from Bitcoin block 666050. The metric is per-cycle, forward-filled to daily granularity, and converted to USD using CoinGecko STX pricing.Learn more
