# Concentrated Liquidity xRex supply Methodology

## 1. Overview

xRex supply measures the total number of xRex assets in existence for the Concentrated Liquidity product. This metric represents the circulating quantity of the protocol-specific xRex asset by tracking all issuance and redemption activity. It provides a historical view of the asset's supply growth and contraction within the Etherex ecosystem.

## 2. Data sources

- **Blockchain events**: ERC-20 `Transfer` events from xRex asset contracts, covering Linea
- **External data**: Asset metadata for decimal normalization

## 3. Step-by-step calculation

### Component A: Mint and burn identification

- **Purpose**: Capture all transactions that result in the creation or destruction of the xRex asset
- **Logic**: ERC-20 `Transfer` events for the xRex asset are parsed to isolate supply-modifying actions. Minting events are identified where the sender address is the null address. Burning events are identified where the recipient address is the null address.
- **Key fields**: `from_address`, `to_address`, `amount`

### Component B: Daily supply change aggregation

- **Purpose**: Calculate the net change in circulating supply for each calendar day
- **Logic**: Daily net changes are calculated by summing the amounts from identified mint events and subtracting the amounts from identified burn events. These aggregations are performed with UTC day boundaries.
- **Key fields**: `block_timestamp`, `amount`

### Component C: Cumulative supply calculation

- **Purpose**: Determine the total quantity of assets in existence at any given time
- **Logic**: The outstanding supply is calculated as a cumulative sum of the daily net changes. This running total is partitioned by chain and asset address to ensure accurate tracking of the total quantity from the asset's inception.

### Component D: Normalization and forward filling

- **Purpose**: Ensure the data is correctly scaled and provides a continuous time series
- **Logic**: Raw asset quantities are normalized by decimal precision using asset metadata. For days where no mint or burn events occur, the supply value is forward-filled from the last known state to ensure a continuous daily record.
- **Key fields**: `decimals` (from asset metadata)
