An account is a wallet or a contract, such as an exchange wallet or a Uniswap pool. The accounts registry labels each one with the project that owns it, so a raw address in any ApeChain table resolves to a name. The Accounts section documents the tables; the ApeChain rows filter with chain_id = 'apechain'.
